Course Objectives

  • To examine the strengths/weaknesses, examples of, and appropriate uses of major quantitative and qualitative research methods in the process of developing and evaluating campaigns and programs

  • To examine the role of sampling and data analysis in the research process

  • To learn how to conduct a secondary data analysis that helps inform primary data collection

  • To gain hands-on experience conducting research that helps solve a communication problem, more specifically to translate research findings/results into actionable, evidence-based recommendations

  • To enhance collaboration and teamwork skills through work on a client project

  • To enhance presentation and writing skills in communicating persuasively, clearly, and successfully

Final Project

For the final project, working in teams, students will analyze  research data collected and develop evidence-based recommendations around the team’s identified research question (RQ) on behalf of Future Founders.
